Connect Sage Intacct + SAP Ariba

Automate purchase order, order confirmation, ship notice, invoice, catalogue / price file between Sage Intacct and SAP Ariba — with monitoring and managed support from APIWORX.

    See How It Works

APIWORX connects the systems your business already uses and takes responsibility for the agreed integration workflows after go-live. The exact objects, direction and cadence are fixed in writing during scoping.

    APIWORX Provides the Service

Yes. APIWORX connects Sage Intacct and SAP Ariba.

But connecting the applications is only the beginning. The work that costs you time sits in the process running between them.

APIWORX automates that process end to end — the objects moving between Sage Intacct and SAP Ariba, the ownership rules that decide which system wins, the exceptions when a record will not post, and the monitoring that tells someone before your team finds out from a customer.

    Who this is for

This page is for finance and order-management teams supplying enterprise buyers through SAP Ariba, with Sage Intacct as the accounting system of record.

What needs to be in place

    • An active Ariba supplier account with the buyer relationships already established.
    • Sage Intacct with API access and a service user permitted to create the transactions in scope.
    • Agreed accounts and dimensions for buyer revenue and deductions.
    • A named contact for pricing, catalogue and compliance questions buyers raise.

When you may not need this

A single buyer with occasional orders can be handled in the Ariba portal. Integration earns its place when buyer count, transaction volume or invoice-rejection rework becomes a standing cost.

    What is out of scope

    • Scope here is supplier-side: receiving buyer transactions and returning your documents. Buyer-side Ariba procurement configuration is out of scope.
    • The transaction path — cXML, EDI or another supported route — is confirmed per buyer in scoping; Ariba buyers differ.
    • PunchOut catalogue hosting is not claimed on this page. If a buyer requires it, it is assessed separately before any commitment.
    • Ariba Network account fees, supplier programme tiers and buyer terms remain between you and the buyer.

What actually moves, and who owns it

A representative supplier-side scope. Exact transactions and formats are confirmed per buyer before build.

Three decisions that make or break this integration

A buyer's order does not match your item or pricing data

Inbound orders are validated against your item, customer and pricing mappings before anything is written to Sage Intacct, so mismatches surface before fulfilment.

    • Unmapped items and out-of-tolerance prices are held with the line identified.
    • APIWORX corrects mappings and reprocesses the original transaction.
    • Recurring mismatches raised as a mapping or pricing change.

An invoice fails the buyer's matching rules

Ariba rejections usually mean the invoice, order and receipt disagree. The rejection comes back with the reason and the Sage Intacct reference so finance corrects once.

    • Reason codes logged against the original invoice reference.
    • Resubmission after your approval.
    • Repeat causes escalated as a process change.

Multiple buyers run side by side

Each buyer is mapped separately, so differing transaction requirements and exception patterns stay distinguishable rather than blending into one queue.

    • Per-buyer mappings and validation rules.
    • Exceptions labelled with the buyer they belong to.
    • Adding a buyer is mapping work inside the engagement.

    Reliability and ownership

The operating rules that apply to this workflow after go-live.

    • Every transaction is logged with its reference and the trading partner it belongs to, so a document can be traced end to end.
    • Failed transactions are retried on a defined schedule; anything still failing is held in an exception queue rather than partially processed.
    • Duplicate prevention keys on the partner's own purchase order or document identifier.
    • Exceptions are worked by the APIWORX team and escalated to your named contacts when a business decision is needed.
    • New buyers, new transaction types and changed requirements are handled as mapping work inside the ongoing engagement.
    • Support windows and response commitments live in your agreement; this page does not state an SLA.

    Scope and questions

    Is this buyer-side or supplier-side?
Supplier-side. We handle the buyer transactions you receive and the documents you return; configuring Ariba as a buying organisation is out of scope.
    cXML or EDI?
Confirmed per buyer in scoping. Ariba buyers differ in the route they expect, so we verify before committing to a build.
    Do you support PunchOut?
Not claimed here. If a buyer requires PunchOut catalogue hosting, it is assessed separately.
    Who owns exceptions?
APIWORX works the queue and escalates to your named contacts when a business decision is required.
