    Connect NetSuite + ShipHawk

Automate order or fulfilment release, ship-to, weights and dimensions, shipment and tracking, item fulfilment record, shipping charge reference between NetSuite and ShipHawk — with monitoring and managed support from APIWORX.

    See How It Works

APIWORX connects the systems your business already uses and takes responsibility for the agreed integration workflows after go-live. The exact objects, direction and cadence are fixed in writing during scoping.

    APIWORX Provides the Service

Yes. APIWORX connects NetSuite and ShipHawk.

But connecting the applications is only the beginning. The work that costs you time sits in the process running between them.

APIWORX automates that process end to end — the objects moving between NetSuite and ShipHawk, the ownership rules that decide which system wins, the exceptions when a record will not post, and the monitoring that tells someone before your team finds out from a customer.

    Who this is for

This page is for operations teams running NetSuite as the order system of record with ShipHawk handling shipping execution across services and lanes.

What needs to be in place

    • NetSuite with API access and a service role permitted to read orders and write fulfilments.
    • A ShipHawk account with carriers, services and locations already configured.
    • An agreed rule for which orders are eligible to ship and when they release.
    • A named operations contact for hold, split and freight decisions.

When you may not need this

Straightforward parcel-only shipping from one location may not need managed integration. It earns its place when mixed parcel and freight, custom mappings or exception volume create standing manual work.

    What is out of scope

    • Carrier accounts, negotiated rates and service availability remain yours; we move data, we do not resell shipping.
    • Which charge values reach the ERP — and whether they come from the shipping platform or the carrier invoice — is confirmed in scoping.
    • Rating, packing and label logic stay in the shipping platform unless a specific rule set is agreed as integration scope.
    • Customs, duty and international documentation requirements are assessed per lane before any commitment.

What actually moves, and who owns it

A representative scope. Exact records, rating behaviour and charge handling are confirmed before build.

Three decisions that make or break this integration

Some orders ship parcel and some ship freight

Mixed shipping profiles are the usual reason a simple connector stops being enough. The data each mode needs is mapped separately so a freight shipment is not forced through parcel fields.

    • Per-mode field mappings maintained by APIWORX.
    • Missing weights or dimensions held rather than guessed.
    • Freight-specific references written back where available.

Item data is incomplete for rating

Rating stays in ShipHawk, but the data quality it depends on is validated first, so shipments fail during validation rather than at the packing bench.

    • Required fields validated before the release is sent.
    • Specific missing values reported per order.
    • Recurring data gaps raised as an item-setup change.

Finance wants shipment costs against the order

Where the charge data is available, it is written back with the shipment reference on an agreed cadence — described as scope, not as a reconciliation guarantee.

    • Charge source confirmed in scoping.
    • References retained for tracing.
    • Held batches reported with the period and reason.

    Reliability and ownership

The operating rules that apply to this workflow after go-live.

    • Every shipment message is logged with the source order reference so a parcel can be traced back to its order.
    • Failed writebacks are retried on a defined schedule; anything still failing is held in an exception queue rather than silently dropped.
    • Duplicate prevention keys on the order number and shipment identifier so a replay does not create a second fulfilment.
    • Exceptions are worked by the APIWORX team and escalated to your named contacts when a business decision is needed.
    • New warehouses, carriers, service levels and store mappings are handled as configuration work inside the ongoing engagement.
    • Support windows and response commitments live in your agreement; this page does not state an SLA.

    Scope and questions

    Do you configure rating rules?
Rating stays in ShipHawk. We confirm the rating scope in place and make sure the data it needs arrives complete.
Are shipping charges posted to NetSuite?
Only where the data is available and the accounts are agreed in scoping.
Can you handle freight as well as parcel?
Yes, with per-mode mappings agreed before build. Lane-specific documentation requirements are assessed separately.
    Who owns exceptions?
APIWORX works the queue and escalates to your named contacts when a business decision is required.
