# Connect NetSuite + ShipHero

Automate order release, item and location mapping, shipment confirmation, inventory adjustment, returns receipt between NetSuite and ShipHero — with monitoring and managed support from APIWORX.

See How It Works

APIWORX connects the systems your business already uses and takes responsibility for the agreed integration workflows after go-live. The exact objects, direction and cadence are fixed in writing during scoping.

APIWORX Provides the Service

## Yes. APIWORX connects NetSuite and ShipHero.

But connecting the applications is only the beginning. The work that costs you time sits in the process running between them.

APIWORX automates that process end to end — the objects moving between NetSuite and ShipHero, the ownership rules that decide which system wins, the exceptions when a record will not post, and the monitoring that tells someone before your team finds out from a customer.

How it works

## From requirements to a managed integration

1

### Tell Us What You’re Connecting

Provide the systems, workflow and business requirements.

2

### We Design the Integration

APIWORX recommends the integration architecture, mappings and implementation approach.

3

### We Build, Monitor & Support It

APIWORX implements the integration and provides ongoing monitoring and support as applicable.

## Who this is for

This page is for operations teams running NetSuite for order and inventory management while ShipHero runs warehouse execution.

### What needs to be in place

- NetSuite with API access and a service role permitted to read orders and write fulfilments.
- A ShipHero account with warehouses, bins and SKUs already established.
- An agreed set of warehouse events to return to NetSuite.
- A named operations contact for hold, split and exception decisions.

### When you may not need this

A single warehouse with a simple pick-pack-ship flow may not need managed integration. It earns its place when event volume, multi-warehouse routing or inventory accuracy questions create standing manual work.

### What is out of scope

- The exact warehouse event set — allocations, picks, packs, shipments, adjustments — is confirmed in scoping rather than assumed.
- Warehouse operating decisions such as pick paths, bin logic and packing rules stay in ShipHero.
- Carrier accounts and negotiated rates remain yours.
- Kitting, lot and serial handling are scoped case by case.

## What actually moves, and who owns it

A representative scope. Exact events and records are confirmed before build.

NetSuite APIWORX (mapping, retries, exception queue) ShipHero

| Object | From | To | System of record | Trigger | If it fails | Owner |
| --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- |
| Order release | NetSuite | ShipHero | NetSuite | Order reaches the agreed release state | Held in exception queue with the validation error | APIWORX |
| Item and location mapping | NetSuite | ShipHero | NetSuite | New or changed item or warehouse | Order held until mapping is corrected | APIWORX |
| Shipment confirmation | ShipHero | NetSuite | ShipHero | Shipment completed | Retried, then queued for review | APIWORX |
| Inventory adjustment | ShipHero | NetSuite | Agreed in scoping | Adjustment posted in the warehouse | Difference reported, not overwritten | APIWORX |
| Returns receipt | ShipHero | NetSuite | NetSuite | Return received | Queued with the original order reference | APIWORX |

## Three decisions that make or break this integration

### An order is released, then changed

Changes after release are where warehouse and ERP records usually diverge. Change handling is an agreed rule so the warehouse and NetSuite end up telling the same story.

- Change window defined per warehouse.
- Changes after the window handled as a cancel-and-reissue or post-ship adjustment.
- Exception raised when the warehouse has already picked.

### Cycle counts move inventory in the warehouse

Adjustments are returned to NetSuite with their warehouse reference so finance can trace a movement rather than seeing an unexplained balance change.

- Adjustment reason and reference retained.
- Agreed cadence for posting or reporting.
- Differences reported before anything is overwritten.

### Fulfilment spreads across warehouses

Multi-warehouse routing is configuration, so adding or reweighting a location does not require a rebuild.

- Location mappings maintained inside the engagement.
- Per-warehouse event rules kept separate.
- Exceptions labelled with the warehouse they came from.

## Reliability and ownership

The operating rules that apply to this workflow after go-live.

- Every order handed to the fulfilment provider is logged with its ERP reference, and every event returned is matched back to that reference.
- Failed sends are retried on a defined schedule; anything still failing is held in an exception queue with the rejection reason.
- Duplicate prevention keys on the order identifier so a replay never creates a second fulfilment request.
- Inventory positions are reconciled on an agreed cadence rather than assumed to be in step.
- Exceptions are worked by the APIWORX team and escalated to your named contacts when a business decision is needed.
- Support windows and response commitments live in your agreement; this page does not state an SLA.

## How a warehouse event is traced

Illustrative — not customer data

An illustrative reference trace from NetSuite order to ShipHero shipment.

| NetSuite sales order number | ShipHero order reference |
| --- | --- |
| NetSuite location | ShipHero warehouse |
| ShipHero shipment identifier | NetSuite item fulfilment |
| ShipHero adjustment reference | NetSuite inventory adjustment |

## Scope and questions

Which warehouse events do you return?

The set is confirmed in scoping. We do not claim a fixed event list before checking what your warehouse configuration exposes.

Can NetSuite stay the inventory system of record?

Yes, when that is the decision. Ownership per position is agreed before build and reconciliation reports differences.

How are post-release changes handled?

With an agreed change window and a defined fallback when the warehouse has already picked.

Who owns exceptions?

APIWORX works the queue and escalates to your named contacts when a business decision is required.
